“DIVERSITY MEANS…” - 2011-2012 PTA Reflections Program

2011-2012 PTA Reflections Program
The PTA Nationally sponsored Arts in Education Reflections Program                       is here again at Goochland Elementary! Students are strongly                  encouraged to participate in this national, creative arts contest!

Every year, students from around the country submit original work centered around one theme. This is such a great opportunity to express your creativity, but you must begin working on your entry now! This year’s theme is
“DIVERSITY MEANS…”
It presents many opportunities for self-expression.  Think about how you could respond to this theme.  What’s important to you? … and get started. You might decide to write an essay, create a painting or make a video!

Students may submit more than one entry, in more than one category, but each entry requires an entry form. Parents can learn more about Reflections at http://www.ptareflections.org/  and download entry forms and rules for each category in the section http://www.vapta.org/statecommittees/arts-in-education-homepage.html

Categories include:
ü     Visual Arts
ü     Literature
ü     Dance Choreography
ü     Film/Video
ü     Musical Composition
ü     Photography

There are rules such as: Each submission must be accompanied by an entry form signed by a parent.
No names on front of submissions. We use a “blind judging” process. Names must be written on the back side of submissions. Follow all the rules for your category. They can be found on the Reflections website. A summary is on the back of this sheet.

All entries due to Mr. Case by Monday, December 5
